Highlight of the Month

On Wednesday, October 15th, Brooklyn College Computer Science students Megi Murati, Changmin Lee, Pawel Cieslak, and Anna Belenko, along with Business Analytics & Data Strategy student Ricky Costas-Hernandez, met with Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman and President Michelle J. Anderson to discuss the growing impact of AI in higher education and the future of technology on campus.

President Anderson highlighted the importance of state support, stating, “Our students represent the next generation of New York’s leaders, innovators, and educators. We are grateful for the continued support from the state to ensure every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to thrive.”

CIS Department is looking for a student!

In this role, you’ll provide student input and advocate for curriculum improvements by collaborating with professors to modernize courses and align coursework with real-world industry needs. You’ll also propose new ideas to integrate into the curriculum. Meetings are held every Monday at 2 p.m. on Zoom with faculty members including David Arnow (Chair), Gerald Weiss, Rivka Levitan, Devorah Kletenik, and Basak Taylan.

Brooklyn College’s President Anderson will host a conversation with PwC Senior Partner, Paul Griggs, who serves as the CEO for the U.S. as part of the Presidential Lecture Series. It will take place October 23, 5:00-7:30 pm on campus at the Tow Theater. 

PwC is one of the Big Four accounting firms in the world, renowned for its expertise in auditing, consulting, and financial advisory services. They have a lot of career opportunities for technology as well.

Don’t miss an insightful discussion on career advancement - from intern to leader and how you can thrive in your prospective career. This conversation will help you understand essential skills that drive success in the workplace, as well as perspectives on the evolving business world. The target audience for this event is first and second-year students.
