String art, also known as curve stitching, creates the illusion of a smooth curve by joining points in a plane with straight lines; the lines form a set of tangent lines to a curve. We'll take a look at some string art pieces and see what types of curves they generate; then look at other ways to generate string art to produce more exotic figures and inspire investigations into higher mathematics.
