Important Updates for Brooklyn College

WAIT! Before you close this email and send it to the trash/spam folder, Brooklyn College has a new Bulldog Connection platform that allows students, alumni, and faculty to connect with one another, offer and accept various opportunities, attend events, and promote community and personal development.

What does this mean for you?

  1. Brooklyn College will be transitioning over to the new website; https://www.clubs.brooklyn.cuny.edu . You will have to claim your account (instructions in the section below)
  2. You will be able to better communicate with the Brooklyn College community - even after graduation. This means better access to jobs, opportunities, and professional development.
  3. You can set up your account and link your social media platforms (IG, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter).
  4. Showcase your involvement in student affairs and government! Your involvement is marked in your co-curricular transcript. You can also earn badges and awards that can be uploaded to your LinkedIn profile making you a competitive candidate for scholarships, internships, and other careers.
  5. You should do this even if you're graduating soon. Membership is lifetime. Once a Philosophy Society member, always a Philosophy Society member.

What you need to do.

  1. visit https://www.clubs.brooklyn.cuny.edu
  2. Press forgot password
  3. Enter the e-mail address listed under 'personal email address' on your BC webcentral account on the 'My Info' section
  4. Follow password reset instructions.
  5. Login and explore the new website!
* If you attended 2023 Philosophy Con as either a regular attendee or as a panelist contact us through the forms on either of our websites, or brooklynphilosophysociety@gmail.com . This is so we can manually award you with the appropriate badge.

 

Philosophy Society News!

The New Bulldog Connection website allows us to build our own webpage, send newsletters, and more! This means we have a new website, our old website (https://www.philosophy.brooklyn.cuny.club) will still be available, but our new website will now be https://www.clubs.brooklyn.cuny.edu/PhilSociety. The website is automatically update with events and newsletters!

Our New Mission and Purpose

The Philosophy Society has a new mission. To bridge the gap between philosophy and the career fields its members are interested in. We want to empower our members with experiences that strengthen their career prospects. To achieve this, we will be working on our LinkedIn page, inviting speakers from various professions, and offering various positions and opportunities for work experience and involvement. We will also be creating badges and awards in the new Bulldog Connection platform that can be added to your LinkedIn profiles and resumes to showcase your abilities and commitment.
