About Us

Our mission as Brooklyn College’s Black Student Union (BSU) is to create an empowering environment, which serves as a support system for all students academically and socially. We aim to raise awareness of the black existence and excellence in society. Our goal is to provide a place where students can feel comfortable sharing joys and concerns. We are a body of students who share the same passion and aim to make a difference in our communities and at Brooklyn College. BSU strives to break down negative stereotypes by educating people on issues impacting black people and promoting positive perceptions of our culture. Our members serve as educators and representatives of black culture and heritage.
