PHaM's Community Fridge Launch - Spring 2024

Did you know that in 2020, 33% of Brooklyn College students reported experiencing hunger, and 50% were in distress, requiring immediate financial assistance? At the heart of our club is a commitment to reducing food waste and building a stronger sense of community on campus. Our Community Fridge initiative aims to provide a sustainable solution to food insecurity by redistributing surplus food to those in need.

About Our Community Fridge Initiative:

Why Join Us?

Our journey began as a response to the challenges faced by students due to the school administration's inability to provide a cafeteria and affordable food options. Recognizing the need for action, the Public Health and Medicine Club initiated the Community Fridge project to empower our community and address food insecurity on our campus. By becoming a member, you'll be part of a grassroots movement that is making a tangible difference in the lives of our fellow students.

How You Can Get Involved:

If you are passionate about creating positive change and addressing the root causes of food insecurity, we invite you to join us. As a member of the Public Health and Medicine Club, you will play a vital role in supporting the Community Fridge initiative. Your commitment will contribute to outreach efforts, food collection, fridge maintenance, local promotion, and more.

Join the Public Health and Medicine Club and be a driving force behind our Community Fridge initiative. Let's work together to overcome challenges and create a campus community where everyone has access to affordable and nutritious food.
