As one of the largest accounting clubs on campus, the Accounting Society provides students with knowledge of accounting opportunities and upcoming presentations and events by firms such as PwC, Ernst & Young, KPMG, and CPA review companies.



The Accounting Society also hosts social gatherings throughout the semester where individuals will have the opportunity to meet other students and professionals who share their career interest.

The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) at Brooklyn College is part of the National AMSA network. We promote awareness, education, and access of information for college students that aspire to be doctors of allopathic medicine, doctors of osteopathic medicine, dentistry, nurses, and physician assistants. Brooklyn College Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (BC MAPS) The Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS) is an organization that strives to provide knowledge, skills, and experience to students who have aspirations of entering the health field. These goals will be achieved through the partnership of SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. The overall goals of MAPS are: To serve the health needs of underrepresented communities To educate people about the importance of health matters To ensure cultural sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population To facilitate mentoring opportunities between medical professionals and premedical students To assist students in preparing to matriculate into their chosen medical or health associated professional school MAPS is a program sponsored by the Student National Medical Association. SNMA is the oldest and largest medical student organization dedicated to underrepresented or underprivileged pre-health students and underserved communities. Committed to increasing the number of culturally capable and sensitive physicians, the SNMA is also dedicated to the academic and clinical success of medical students and pre-health students. Through signature programs such as MAPS among many others, the SNMA members work with youth from elementary school to college introducing them to science and serving as mentors. In this way, the SNMA strengthens the educational pipeline that leads from elementary school to professional school. talkPOPc is a multi-faceted project, which includes published philosophy, paintings/textual artworks, one-to-one philosophical conversations (in a special tent with our mascot puppet!), and a podcast. The project is a focus on the empathetic role of conversation, and how it is that we build thought both through art and through philosophy. The tent conversations become episodes on the podcast and, in addition, particular sentences and thoughts are extracted from the participants’ conversations and appear back into the artworks, (which are called Converse Thoughts), where they are seen in the form of slips of paper that can be unrolled and read. Philosophy becomes art, and art becomes philosophy.

The Brooklyn College Historical Society (BCHS) promotes the study of history and academia. We host events each month like speaker events with BC staff and outside guests, movie nights, trivia events, writing workshops, holiday parties, and just about anything you can think of. The BCHS also manages Clio: The Journal of the Brooklyn College Historical Society.
