The Black Solidarity Day Committee is charged with the responsibility of spreading the idea of Black Solidarity, the idea of what it means to be a person of color in the past, present and future, the idea of our worth and why we should take the position we hold, no matter how insignificant we might feel it is, to try uniting and helping each other develop our communities and one another.

The New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) is New York’s largest student-directed not-for-profit organization. NYPIRG’s unique mission is to provide New York college students with an opportunity to take a lead role in public policy advocacy campaigns while learning from NYPIRG’s full-time staff members the skills and tactics that have allowed students across New York the ability to stop tuition hikes, ban dangerous drilling practices, register thousands of students to vote every year, and so much more! The SOFEDUP (Student Organization For Every Disability United For Progress) Club is an advocacy group for Brooklyn College students with disabilities. We encourage students to get involved in student life on Brooklyn College and CUNY-wide events. Students get to do volunteer work, attend workshops, conferences and retreats to improve and develop strong leadership skills. The club is open to students with and without disabilities. Mission
Students for Justice in Palestine (Brooklyn SJP) is a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and community members at Brooklyn College, organized on democratic principles to raise awareness about the human rights violations committed by Israel against the Palestinian people. And to build solidarity with the Palestinian Struggle for human rights, justice, liberation, self-determination and the right of return. We organize around the principles of the Palestinian Civil Society call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions of Israel. SJP believes that while the Palestinian people must ultimately be able to decide their future in Palestine, certain key principles, grounded in international law, human rights, and basic standards of justice, will be fundamental to a just resolution of the plight of the Palestinians. These include the full decolonization of all illegally held Palestinian lands; the end of the Israeli occupation of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank; including East Jerusalem; the implementation of the right of return and repatriation for all Palestinian refugees to their original homes and properties; and an end to the Israeli system of Apartheid and discrimination against the indigenous Palestinian population. Just as SJP condemns the racism and discrimination underlying the policies and laws of the state of Israel, SJP rejects any form of hatred and discrimination against anyone. SJP is committed to confronting oppression in all its forms. Racism, Sexism, Patriarchy, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, Homophobia, Classism, Ableism and other forms of bigoted speech. SJP’s strength is in the great diversity of its membership. SJP welcomes individuals of all backgrounds to join in solidarity with the struggle for justice in Palestine.
