Mission
The purpose of this organization shall be to expand Caribbean culture to the campus
community by introducing live Steelpan (a musical instrument originated in Trinidad and
Tobago) performances and incorporating the instrument to the Brooklyn College campus life
by having the instrument along with performances available upon request for events etc. on
campus. This organization will also educate students on the history of steelpan and theory of
music with practical assistance (availability of the instrument for use and reference to music
theory).

The purpose of this organization is to bring together the composers of Brooklyn College in a strong productive
community.


We want to give the composers more opportunities to have their music performed and more importantly, heard!

Our main goal is to organize concerts to showcase the music of living composers and, ultimately, bring in professional musicians to perform our music giving the members practical experience contracting with outside experts in the field.

We want to revitalize New York's student band culture and bring the rock ensemble back to the people. Everyone should get a chance to play, whether you're performing your first show or your hundredth. Join the Light Music Club, and let's jam!
